Poem Artwork

a meandering mess of a poem I couldn't bring myself to change... Dawn

Urgent chirps,
sweet, sad songs --
morning birds bring news of you, love.

And so I speak vast thoughts
into this void between us, this chasm,
and believe
you will know I know
and will allow me to hold you through it,
even from the other side of what
used to be your life.

You have been asleep
but will awaken
to the sound of urgent chirps
turned to chipper conversations
and long-lost melodies that remind you
of life in another key.

You stand now and face
this ominous fork in the road.
With a maestro's grand sweep, you must
lay everything on the line, with swift downstroke
move confidently, following note by note
to the place where a symphony of hope swells
within you and around you.

You will sing again, love, and move like music itself
into waiting spaces. And when we meet
in that place where music lives,
we will dance again
and marvel
at the urgent chirps
and sweet sad songs that led us
to build the bridge upon which we will stand.
Until then I will breathe into the heart of all this pain
and soothe this silence with my love.

"life in another key"

I absolutely love this concept! Let us tune our hearts and minds and souls to the glorious symphony of Creation!

Love & Light always and in all ways,

I'll chirpy, chirpy, cheap, cheap, along with Jude... I think this paints a beautiful picture in a kind of bird-language, Dawn, moving lightly from branch to branch. Your thoughts echo the spontaneity of their movement, and we can see their passage as you go. Higgledy piggledy is entirely fitting. Glad you went with your instinct, rather than kill it! Your poet's heart prevailed. Good one! TY Kate xx

Dawn your metaphor is superb throughout and the sentiments are endearing and beautifully delivered!

this poem is receptive to the emotional music of your muse and attuned to the motion of its direction while unleashing the sentiment you endeavor to acknowledge and willingness to pursue ... i wouldn't change it either, Dawn ...

This work is very artistic and keeps the reader in tune with it and it's meaning. Thanks for sharing this with me and the family here on the Den.

Why would you want to change it. It took me through all the little mind-spaces where poetry lurks.
