Poem Artwork

The map has colored dots
and offers evidence:
Cause for the effect
of all that's gone askew.

The inks are permanent,
just, as they say, my lot:
strange, wondrous dialect,
marked by moods red and blue.

I search for hidden truth,
read between the lines,
coax forth miracles
through fire or alchemy.

I turn it upside down,
bless it, burn it, turn it
into flecks of gold.
Deemed doomed, I rise, am found.
