Poem Artwork

The best I ever loved you
is from afar
for from this distance I came to see
the beauty rising within me.

Alone, I stood in love
and found again
the strength to stand and embrace my soul
and so purify and make whole

Alll that had once seemed so fixed
to your presence.
Oddly, I am more present to you
in remaining steadfast and true

To the self who once seemed small,
frail and fragile,
and there is no need for recompense
for I am complete, encircled,

Expanding infinitely --
into spirit
formed, free to fly, unecumbered by
the tiny thing, the velvet lie.

When faith has fallen freely
and hope sighs, love
rushes in to fill the void and breaks
me wide open to miracles.

Becoming one with life,
I am content
to be a stirring wind, river's flow,
what love may come, what love may go.

To find within yourself "beauty rising," is a wondrous thing to happen, and that last verse is a excellent bit of writing.
