how I have grieved with you in this letting go
and all the leaving behind? 

You have not been alone. 

I have heard you 
in the night of your journey and walked with you
through the ache of empty.

I have stood beside you.

There is a gentle beginning 
though we have not yet made our way 
to standing in the center together. 

I will be here when you arrive. 

In truth we are nurturing the seed
of that beginning now by staying true
to the path of honor and integrity. 

Can we see this finally in each other? 

Did you know
how I have rejoiced with you in this coming together
and all the going ahead?

You will not dance alone.

I have seen you
in the day of your setting off and walked with you
through the flood of fullness.

I have rested with you. 

There is a sweet ending
though we have not yet closed the door
to sitting on the circle's edge alone. 

I will be there when you dare to walk away. 

In truth we are listening to the wisdom of the trees
that whisper of the ending then and 
walking in the way of wholeness.

Will we listen at last for the wind blowing through our lives?
