This current we are springs eternal
from the Source of our Being.
Its flow can no more be cut off
than the oceans emptied once for all.

The beautiful thing is that it gives life
and never takes anything away.
Surely you know this. Surely
after so long you feel this truth.

It is only blessing, the purest representation
of a Love that sustains us all. It is only we
who might corrupt it or call it anything other,
only we who might refuse its gift.

Of God it was born and this is where
My heart sees your mind has tricked you
into seeing it as something that is
not supposed to be.

Beloved one, my soul twin, my heart
has ached for lifetimes because of this
and all the ways it was I, in the beginning,
who did not want this thing to be.

I am sorry for that wound and pray,
like me, you come to see its grace,
and walk with me humbly, learning
the way of Love.

In our blindness or perhaps to fill the void
we have walked in other ways.
There is no question of the pain
we caused, often unknowingly.

And yet the truth I know is that
there is a difference in what God has joined
and what we have joined in the name of God.
To put that truth asunder

Will keep us as under water,
slaves to the will of man and rule of a law
too small to contain the whole of who we are.
It is your choice and mine, and it is not easy.

Yet even in the choosing to let go
of our tight hold on how we think it all should go,
this love can be gift. We can receive and open our hearts
to that river of miracles wanting to flow through us.

I know we can do this. It is, in my understanding,
the highest calling, that does not require
anything but love to all whose lives are touched
by its consuming fire and its healing balm.

Neither is there anything to fear
when we choose to honor love. Come,
sit with me and be present to this possibility.
I will listen with love and require nothing.

I do not know why the heavens planted
this seed of knowing in me or why you were blind
but now you see; yet, I do know we are
a gift to the world and only Love,

A current that springs eternal.
