I HAVE Earned It

© By Kathy Armijo

I am fifty-eight going on eighteen

There is still much left to do

Many mountains to traverse

Many dreams still to fulfill

Love the whiter hair

It gives me an air of distinction

An appearance of wisdom

Still the comic shines through

My life experiences have been many

Lining my face with a few wrinkles

‘Crows feet’ and furrows …

Badges of honor and life

Materially, it matters not

What I got

What matters is that

I am …

Blessings abound …

Memories that would overflow an ocean

Grateful for your friendship, love and caring

Plus the bounty of His love

Reminding me that

I have earned it, every wrinkle, white hair

But beware …

There is still fire in there!

Yes you have earned them lines wrinkles, they
Are sadly all part of the aging process
we may see it as getting older
I love white hair on a man they look so distinguish!
And in a woman looks so beautiful
a women are like aged wine gets better with age!
The beauty of wisdom!
We have earned it I love your final stanza!
Brilliant write!!

If we were dating I would have been arrested for robbing the crib you poor little thing that are feeling eighteen at... (a gentleman don't say it) but those wrinkles I bet are from thousand smiles and million of laughs.

Aging faces. That is where the lines of character show through. Not in the firm, smooth skin of youthful faces. After shaiving each morning I look into the mirror and muse. I run my fingers across sixty-five years of life's journeys in the lines of my aged face. I enjoyed working to make each and every one of them. A very excellent reminder of what lines and wrinkles really represent, character.

Amen! I am one of many who likes to grow old, and eventhough I'm 29 now, I still feel 19 inside, it's a wild feeling. Beautiful poem Kathy

No doubt in my mind Kathy, your humour and passion still glow on your face like the sweet gurgling laughter of a baby.
Love this one.

I have earned my grey hairs too; I'm grateful for them because it shows that God's allowed me to live another day. Quite an accomplishment because when I was born nearly 49 years ago, they didn't expect me to live the DAY. I also nearly died on Nov. 15, 2006, when my b/p shot up. So God isn't done with me yet; and I am so glad He isn't! I'm still here, kickin'! Very good write, Kathy; you go, girl!

(You probably get around better than ME! And I'm YOUNGER! LOL)

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

From a guy eighteen years older . . . You are right, there definately "still much left to do." Hope your health will allow that to happen . . .

Wonderfully and oh so painfully true! Wear it all like a badge of honor bestowed upon you by God himself. Just remember there is still plenty of living yet to be done....

Be always safe,
Karen
