shaking the rattle the shaman dances fingerpaint upon his face he begins to move and shapes into form a lineage of time simultaneously enacted two points of the compass one spins of the past one spins of the now shadows creep along the floor entering holes and exiting doors I breathe through the drama he plays in my mind the rattle shakes with the sound of snakes sssssssssssssssssss and I writhe impassioned intuition and knowing sensations of other worlds haunting sometimes arriving in dreams and spaces between I ask, what do you need and what story do you tell
Sometimes the metaphysical is so comfortable, peaceful. This was a pleasant and refreshing break from the normal and I enjoyed it very much, Debby.

This is excellent! If an alien asked me what it feels like when I dream, I would read him your poem and replace the word shaman with the word dream and replace arriving in dreams as arriving as shaman! Dennis
