R.I.P. MY BIG BOY PRIDE:
Pride will be leaving us today between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon. He has cancer and is incurable and the vet says she can't do anything else for him.
In the meantime, he is still not eating much, and the fluids are still accumulating in his abdomen area. We do not want him to be in any pain or discomfort and have decided that it's time to let him go in peace. I have arranged for the euthanize services to be done at home. The company will send the vet to come to our house to do the service. She will first administer a sedative to make Pride goes to sleep. While Pride is in his dreamland then she will administer the euthanizing service. The transition will be calm and peaceful, much like a person goes to sleep and never wakes up. Then the vet will take Pride home with her where he will be picked up by the cremation services people. After Pride is cremated they will deliver him back to me in an urn, right to my doorstep. I think it is a good service.
My children came to visit Pride yesterday to say goodbye to him before he leaves us. Today, the service will only be attended by my daughter and myself, as I do not want Pride to feel nervous and may wonder why there are so many people crowding him. I want Pride to have the best transition, ever, as he leaves us.
I am heartbroken, but I know this is best for my big boy Pride. He will go peacefully in his sleep. May God bless him always.
I CAN RELATE...HER NAME WAS CANDI. WHAT A LOVELY LADY OF UNIQUE GRACE AND TEMPERAMENT. SHE DID NOT BELONG TO ME...SHE WAS MY DAUGHTER'S PET, BUT SHE WAS LOVED AND APPRECIATED BY THE ENTIRE FAMILY. CANDI GOT OLD AND AFTER SLOWING DOWN CONSIDERABLY AND LOSING HER HEARING...SHE PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY AT HOME. I WROTE OF HER...CANDI. MY DAUGHTER YET HAS THE URN AND SHE NEVER REPLACED HER...AS IF SHE COULD. THANK YOU, SANDIE... LOVE,BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

I'm so sorry, Sandie! I saw this same post in Facebook. Know that you are in my prayers. Pride is pain-free now and he will be your little guardian angel.
It was a sad day when I held my cat, Pepper, in my arms as he was given the shot. He never let anyone hold him, but that day he was so weak that I held him for half an hour. He passed a few seconds after the shot. We took him home and buried him. He was a beautiful cat with stripes of black, white, and grey in his fur. HIs tail was big and bushy like a Maine Coon. I know our cats knew we loved them.
Thank you all! Pride passed away at 12:58 p.m. today. He was a tough little guy, took him almost an hour to pass, but he was heavily sedated. He was a large cat (20 lbs.) and with a lot of fluids accumulated in his tummy, he had to take two sedated needles, and two euthanize needles to help him pass.
The transition was calm and peaceful. For a cat that has been there for all my children while they were growing up, Pride has been very much a part of my family. We will miss him for a long long time. He was like my son!
We took an impression of his paw print and also saved some of his furs.
