This poem was written by me a long time ago when I first began writing poetry enthusiastically. It's one of my old poems. LOL!!! Guess I wasn't too happy in those days for some reasons, but I must have healed myself by putting all my pieces back together.
Pieces of me
are scattered about
on the floor.
I looked
and found one piece
still in its perfect shape.
I picked it up,
looked closely at
its two lifted corners.
So perfect,
so beautiful,
it was my own smile.
I shall gather
all pieces of me
from this floor.
I shall sew these pieces together
to form something nice -
a quilt, perhaps.
I hope that was a coincidence as I have posted and reposted this poem many times before here in the den and elsewhere. Also, if you may check the poetry book that I have sent to you as a gift, entitled "Melodies of Love", this poem "Pieces of Me" is in there too. And that was many years ago already. "Melodies of Love" was published twice: the First edition was published in 2003, and the Second edition was published in 2007.
Well, I hope that was a coincidence anyway. Thank you for your comment!
Symbolic, metaphorical, and meaningful. Expresses the essence of you. "Pieces of Me" is the title of one of Lena's books coincidentally. Love and best wishes,
