Can't sleep? Start counting sheep...

Insomnia paid me a visit last night just as I thought I was about to fall asleep. I kept begging him to please…just let me sleep. "Go ahead, who's stopping you?" he complained. "But how can I fall asleep when you are here?" I asked. "Start counting sheep," he said. So I started counting each sheep that jumped over the fence. But darn! There was one that wouldn't leap. I held it by its ear, and screamed at it… "Hey you there! Jump over that fence and get to the other side, will ya?" "Baaaaah! Why should I?" the sheep asked. "Because I need some sleep around here. Your refusal to jump is delaying my counting and I can't get to sleep when I can't keep counting," I answered. "Oh Baaah! Baaah! Baaah! Baaah! Bah!" it said. I've always had insomnia. I never thought of him as a person. Now I will. I will have someone to yell at when sleep taunts me.

Counting sleep never did a thing for me . . . Laying my hand on a breast after "the act" is more my cup of tea . . . Just saying.
