My mind and heart
are endless, always in motion
joined together by happenstance
and together twirling
sometimes toward one another
sometimes away
always moving forward
never stopping
dropping pink petals along the path.
The petals wait for me
to come again along the road
when I am lost.
I stumble upon them
and pick them up
rosy and soft in my hand
soothing my being
with both logic and heart
reminiscent of how they once were
when they twirled together
along this trail.
My soul has sent me here
as it always does
to find myself
in the soft petals.
I hold them to my ear.
Their gentle messages
reach into my being
in a cadence
that reminds me who I am.
The words are familiar
because they were mine not long ago
when my mind and heart
were twirling along this trail
always moving forward
never stopping
dropping pink petals along the path
hoping to be found again.
