I've walked through the shadows of despair
yet, I have not been discouraged.
I've walked through shadows of hunger
yet, I have not starved.
I've been through shadows of loneliness
yet, I am no longer desolate.
I've traveled through shadows of grief
yet I no longer feel sorrow
My shadows do not rule my life
because I choose not to let them enter.
I had that choice, and have it still.
I choose the path of today and the future;
I choose the path that I take.
Watch keenly where we tread,
be thankful for God’s blessings,
lest our shadows dwell within us.

What a fantastic write and so true.
The drawing - well, all I can say is that I've been in places before where I could see things hanging on the walls and from the ceiling. One of them was a nursing home.
