Winter comes and Winter goes
and in the meantime there may be snows.
Snow I don’t mind, but not ice, God knows.
With ice you get North wind that blows
and paint your face with a glowing nose;
not to mention painfully frosted toes
As Winter comes and North wind blows
your sinuses become raging flows;
your eyes no longer contain Heavenly glows.
Cautiously, we maneuver the ‘tos’ and ‘fros’
from door to car, find the lock has froze,
unprotected it’s sealed, a solid close.
Slipping and sliding, everyone goes
back into the house to try to compose
a day indoors; we will now enclose
our bodies in warmth, our feet in wool hose.
Hot chocolate, popped corn, our favorite shows,
make for happy times evading Winter's Ice throes.
O! How I DO love Winter snows,
just don't like when the Ice Storm blows!

Snow I can take though I hate to shovel
Ice I hate it's dangerous all around
Brings down trees and tel. & electric poles
unable to walk, cabin fever time.
