As colourful Monarchs dance over pink Cosmos high,
And Morning Glories open wide in a strong breeze,
Towering Holly Hocks reach gracefully toward the sky.
As early Mourning Doves flutter gracefully as they fly,
A Blue Jay raids a Cardinal’s fresh nest before it flees,
As colourful Monarchs dance over pink Cosmos high.
As playful squirrels gather nuts, hide them as they try,
And rustling chipmunks scurry up and down the trees,
Towering Holly Hocks reach gracefully toward the sky.
As darting Delphiniums stretch eagerly, then slowly die,
And a Lazy Susan looks around absorbing all it sees,
As colourful Monarchs dance over pink Cosmos high.
As geese gather beside the river’s edge, calling to cry,
And Martins take flight long before the winter freeze,
Towering Holly Hocks reach gracefully toward the sky.
As spring slowly dies, summer wishes it a grand goodbye,
And the sun warms the earth, the birds and bumble bees.
As colourful Monarchs dance over pink Cosmos high,
Towering Holly Hocks reach gracefully toward the sky.
