Poem Artwork

A Sailing Sonnet

Slow rolling waves, churn up sand and seas,
As sunshine spreads, dabbling across the land,
While distance lands, hide, cloaked with trees,
And hot beaches are covered with pink sand.

As the vessel rolls, controlled by a sailor’s hand,
A low moan of increasing wind sings on a cloud,
And many men fall, no longer able to withstand,
Being concealed in the dense white, misty shroud.

Breeze blows hard, as sound deafens and is loud,
While sea creatures dance upon shimmering water,
And are joined by leaping mermaids in a crowd,
Young and beautiful, yet someone’s only daughter.

Basking in a beautiful, bouncing, bright bathtub,
While making magical music over a sinking sub.

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
