Nature poem about the old whaling cabin at Point Lobos, California

Whalers’ Cove Cabin Like most of us, the cabin has seen better days, slouches between wind-deformed cypress, degenerative roofline, concave. Scattered whale vertebrae serve as geranium planters, brittle ribs demark a path to the front door. Old salts now compost beneath sod, their tumultuous histories forgotten. Shells and bones are all that survive.
