Bird Song

Bird outside my window
Perched upon a branch
Have you come to hear me
Hum the music of Chopin?

Bird outside my window
Did you come to claim
The melody that you composed
That gave musicians fame?

Bird outside my window
Your song compares to none
Singing to me as if to say
Now THIS is how it’s done

Bird outside my window
The air resounds with glee
Content in your perfect pitch
While entertaining me.

Bird outside my window
I listen while you sing
A lovely solo as the leaves
Wait to join you in the wings

Bird outside my window
Your song’s about to end
Come back soon and sing to me
And please...invite a friend

If you ever use a tape recorder to record the bird songs, you'll find out that they actually sing in rhythm.
