Dashing through the snow.....

Crisp clear winter's night.
Imagination taking flight.
Perfect diamond stars in the sky.
The love between you and I.

Birches, stark,wintry and bare.
Our breath's fog hanging there.
The warm blanket around us in the sleigh.
The warmth of your arm around me to stay.

The jingling of the horses harness bells.
The snow, the cold, the many smells.
Afterwards, a hot cup of chocolate feels good.
Dinner and a long hot bath also would.

We dress for dinner, loving this spell.
The peace and tranquility serves us well.
A mini vacation in an inn out of time.
No TV, no phone..a most restful clime.

Coming back to the real world
was a jangling discord.
But anytime I need to unwind...
I remember this vacation sublime.
