Tits & Tats
Augmentation, lift, reduction,
Mastopexy, liposuction.
Beauty is but skin deep, but it’s not one’s heart or mind
We’re making efforts to improve, unless we’re truly blind.
Instead, it’s superficial beauty we manipulate,
According to what Hollywood’s stale fashions stipulate.
We all want Angelina’s lips and Julia Robert’s smile,
We want to be like someone else, with manufactured style.
We seek no self-improvement now through books or charms or arts;
We take the road most traveled --- by exchanging body parts.
Dermabrasion, buttock lift,
Botox, tuck, and nasal shift.
Yes, rhinoplasty flourishes because the paths we chose
Consider heart and soul much less than how big someone’s nose.
The world is morbidly obese, but we shall conquer that ---
We’ll pop more Dexatrim and liposuction all the fat.
To eat a healthy diet would require to much work,
And exercise takes efforts we make all attempts to shirk.
We'll never choose a pinup for how smart her mind might grow,
But when her thong bikini’s wet, what cleavage she will show.
Gastric bypass, Phentermine,
Hoodia patch and Tetrazene.
An empty soul and poor self-image are what here permits
One’s happiness to hinge upon the cup size of your tits.
Decades ago, tattoos were bad, and those with ink were spurned;
Adorning only convicts or the sailors that returned.
Yet what society rejects can change from day to day,
So much so that what it accepts did not start out that way.
For, these days parlor ink might decorate a young girl’s skin;
Its sight no longer linked with sordid acts or lives of sin.
Collagen and TCA,
Silicone and Retin-A.
Someday, the Rubenesque ideal will once more be the fad,
And all the slender waif-like girls will once again be sad.
And by the time that day arrives, by inches and degrees,
I hope their implants hang with both tits down around their knees.
So, seek your true self-worth in something other than a mirror,
You'll find that all your insecurities will disappear.
Otherwise, you're nothing but a vain and pompous slave,
Not one iota prettier when rotting in the grave.

Tits and Tats
I love this poem. Now where's my 18 year old so I can sit her down, and show her a male point of view of all the silliness women put themselves through, when, as you said, the end is the same for all of us!

I love all your O P E N feelings shared here! LOUD and CLEAR!
and the new thing is NOW, over 40 getting breast enlargements, saying it EMPOWERS, but some say, the C word (Cancer) can be found behind the implants, some choose saline, salt water for those reasons! It is true ( I feel) DEEP INSIDE oF ourselves the self worth has to be shown, they should spend the money ( cuz, Health INSURANCE DOES NOT PAY FOr this body luxuries) on SElf Knowledge, counseling, to GROW day to day! year to year! I wouldn't want em'- ON Tats. I have a thigh and a arm, an arm thorn, about 4" wide and 2 red blood drops, on the points, history around it, back in 2000 I got Divorced, the red tear drop in front, signifies my feelings shown and his is in the back... and On my thigh, a She-Wolf, I wrote a poem on, I am proud of it and smile when I wear shorts, knowing I did for empowerment for ME! and it's body burst out, like incredible hulk...The pict. is about #11 or so down on my poems! Check it out... I love it! and I still want more, but I get older - I think twice! I hope many will read this poem, and let the thoughts sink in!
