I could hold no longer
in abeyance my feelings of joy
arrangements for our meeting
made when winter's bite
owned the out of doors
my admiration, an endurng one
for their incomparable beauty
Richmond town and Lewis Ginter's
garden of botanical beauty
June, and I would make my arrival
in the light of mid-morning
essentials camera, pen and pad
my guarded companions
in the garden's heart
a glass conservatory
housing the beauties in natural environs
photographs, one hundred and more
I took with love and care
essential attractions for me
butterflies and orchids
beauties in pastel yellow
flitted and fluttered
like fine silk silhouettes
alighting where they pleased
my hand a place they chose
no more satisfaction that day
was needed by me
that one marvelous event alone
would have left me complete
but now it was
on to the orchids
to sate my camera's lusting desires
if beauty exists more breathtaking
let it be brought forth
for my examination
for gardens of beauties
are an incomparable lot
