This man was my rock and I loved him with all my heart. He was all that a Father should be. I miss you Dad.

Poem Artwork

He’s a Big Part of Me!

He was always there when I needed him, even while

Working and painting a fence.

With a favorite saying about a tomato and sink,

That I never understood, and that didn't make sense.

He took the time to hear my dilemma and trials,

Changing my tears to giggles and smiles.

I've always been my daddy's girl,

He made me feel special, like his little pearl.

Such a good-looking daddy with baby blue eyes,

They're the exact same color of the heavenly skies.

He never did anything that he told me not to do.

I always loved him and respected him too.

When he was around he made everything right.

And still found the time to tuck me in at night.

He worked three jobs most of the time,

But when he was home, everything was fine.

There was plenty of heartache throughout his life,

With many trials and an abundance of strife.

He buried two children in God's green earth,

So his life wasn't all cheerful, happy, and mirth.

Gee, what courage is in my dad,

When things go wrong and life is sad.

He never gives up he just keeps going,

And his wisdom never dwindles, it just keeps growing.

He'll never die he will be here through eternity,

'Cause he's deep in my heart, and he's a big part of me.

I love you dad!

Beautiful write, your daddy lives on in memory and in your heart. Sounds like he was a great guy! I am thankful to still have MY daddy; he's getting up there (will be seventy eight this year; has health issues that put him in the hospital from time to time), so I worry about him. He lives in Ohio.

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :)

Very well penned; love the pic!
