My Mother’s Pride Burst Through

It was the greatest feeling when they said I had a son,

Little boys have energy and strength, they goe ‘til the day is done.

They bring such joy and happiness into each and everyday,

They make your heart swell with love when watching them at play.

You want for them, the best of everything that life can surely give.

You pray for God’s protection for as long as they shall live.

With eyes closed, I can feel the hugs their little arms gave me,

And I can still see their smiles while climbing up a tree.

They were leaders from the time they were very small,

In their sports, when at school it showed up most of all.

Their teachers always prized and respected them as well.

They never disappointed them as far as I can tell.

I prayed so hard that someday that they would finally find,

A woman that would love them and give them peace of mind.

Someone that would value them for they're so good and kind,

And one that would keep them in their hearts, soul and mind.

I know they will show her how much they love and care,

I know this in the depth of me, because I was always there.

I wish them much happiness because they deserve no less,

For they are filled with character and they are truly blest.   

They will be great fathers and they have so much to teach.

Their children will be so fortunate, for the stars they too shall reach.

God gave my sons so much in life, the best he had bestowed,

For they give back to others now when others are feeling low.

For the strength and courage inside them, I love these special two,

They fill my heart with joy and my Mother’s pride burst through.
