Spunk
How lost she must be without anyone there.
She must be frightened and very scared.
The loss of her father is traumatic in deed.
But she’s tough and she came from a very good breed.
She left for school soon after her father’s death,
She felt alone, forgotten and left.
No matter how strong she thought she should be,
Of the fears and the loneliness she couldn’t be free.
How do you tell her that she’s never alone?
I’ll always be there when she picks up the phone.
We know in her heart, her dad can’t be replaced,
But we can try to fill a void in a very large space.
We think of her many times throughout the day,
And we love her so much in a special way.
Her dad lives inside her and will always be,
Alive in her forever for the world to see.
The spunk that is in her amazes us so.
I hope beyond hope that she never lets go.
She’s a survivor and will always be,
An exceptional young lady, at least to me.
She will someday meet that special guy,
And her dad will look down from the heavenly sky.
How proud of her he will be that day,
This man will be like him in every way.
The heartache she feels each and everyday,
Will someday ease and go away.
She’ll start to remember the good times they had,
And when she remembers him, she’ll no longer be sad.
