Potato Soup!

It's raining outside today and I'm making potato soup. Oh what memories!

Potato Soup!
 
 
I love making homemade potato soup when it’s damp outside.
It warms me through and through and fills my heart with pride.
For Mother taught me how to make it and craft it with loving care.
And while I’m stirring it so gently, Mom is standing there.
 
She taught me many things that are with me everyday.
She taught me how to love and she taught me how to pray.
So everyday she’s with me no matter what I do.
‘Cause just like the potato soup, she warms me through and through.

I love soups, especially home-made potato soup; it's the one thing I can make and give to friends in their time of illness that helps them feel much better. Maybe it's the soup...maybe it's the gift of love and caring, just as your heartwarming poem describes your Mom's warmth. Thanks, Bonnie

This one is warm and comforting, like eating hot soup on a cold day.
I never appreciated Mom's soups until I was older. So many Mondays, we'd come from school to find bean soup simmering, to our horror.
Now I like most soups; was just thinking of Potato Soup today.

I remember sitting in your kitchen with tea and Donna and us talking about your pumpkin custard pies too. You are a fabulous cook and now can write about your cooking. How amazing to do that and be able to come up with great times and thoughts. Love, Lois

...a recipe of remembered thoughts...makes one sometime hunger...for the teacher...who has given one the ingredients...to hold the warm soup of the soul...everlasting.

It was one of my Daddy's favorite foods. I learned to make it when I was a child. Love the warm feeling of love in this poem.
