Stay alert my friends. So many times we don't pay attention to sounds or things around us.

Poem Artwork

As You Walk in the Darkness

As you walk in the darkness of the night.
Keep alert to sounds of fear or fright.
Enjoy what’s around you but be aware.
That there could be someone lurking out there.

Be very careful and pick up your pace.
Don’t stay too long in a particular place.
Keep those feet a truckin’, for you never know.
Who could be hiding behind the next corner or so?

Keep that can of mace held tightly in your hand.
And use it if necessary straight from the can.
So if anyone’s lurking out there to harm you.
You’ll be fully prepared, and be boldly armed too.

what a scary face is that -- in the dark or in the light, it's a fright -- mace it I say and shoo it away -- lol -- JMW

Now what made you write this? Were you out walking at night? "Keep those feet a-truckin." I like that line!
Be chicken like me--stay home.

As you walk in the darkness...take my hand and don't fear because darkness is the one that fears me.

Seems especially appropriate these sad days.

Yikes! What a face to look at this early morning: the stuff of nightmares! GAD!!

Good advice; whenever I go anywhere by myself, especially in the dark, I try to avoid poorly lit areas, and I pray all the way to wherever I'm going, asking God to keep me safe, put His protection around me, pray Psalm 91 on me. Or I have my twin sister with me; I don't like going by myself if I can help it. I'm also scared of the dark; that does NOT help! Very well penned; you may have saved a few lives today!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(

Hey Bonnie, you hit right on the button with this poem.Sadly and unfortunately there are a lot of crazy people at nights. Its always better to be safe rather than sorry and your poem gives out good advice that people should take into consideration. If my girlfriend was in danger,I would be with her 100% and if anyone decides to mess with her then they will have to deal with me.I would protect and defend her to the grave.I've heard tons of stories about these things happening when a woman gets off from work or any destination that they come from. They always want to pick on the vulnerable and when a woman is at her weakest moment, they take advantage and cause physical harm to her.I hate hearing stories like this.Take good care of yourself
Love and Hugs always

Bonnie,

The night can be frightening, especially when your alone. This was very scary, with too much truth in it.
