No Condemnation
She was such a young mommy with a little girl of two.
When her husband left her & she not knowing what to do.
She was in the depth of depression and feared being alone.
She soon found out she was expecting and those fears had grown.
She could barely take care of herself or the little one she had.
Her depression deepened no brightness at all, not even a tad.
She knew it wasn’t in God’s plan and she knew it was a sin.
A decision was finally made from the despair that she was in.
But as she sat in the waiting room of the clinic she had found.
She thought it was the only decision left, a decision that was sound.
When it was all over, she thought she would feel extreme relief.
But all she could feel was darkness, sadness and also intense grief.
Many, many, years went by but those sad memories still lived on.
About the little baby she aborted, not knowing if it was a daughter or a son.
The great loss and self-condemnation continued on through her life.
She was so young then, but even knowing that, didn’t help with her strife.
She made her peace with God about the decision she made that day.
And always keeps that baby in her prayers, every time she prays.
If only she would have trusted God and kept that little one.
She might have found some peace in life when her day was done.
She now helps others who are faced with an unforgiving decision.
So they don’t make the same mistake, a life and death collision.
No condemnations, no self-hate, they will ever have to face.
For those lost souls that are now gone, a part of our human race.
Every time a baby’s life was saved she looked up and into space.
And she sees her baby smiling through it’s beautiful tearstained face.

It's a sad, sad situation to be in, expecting a baby but at an inconvenient time, or having no means to support it.
Your poem gives us an insight, Bonnie, into the subject.

Amongst all the ones that were written on this topic, yours is one that stands out best.
I, myself, have never had an abortion; but I do sympathize the ones who have had it, for it IS as you have stated in this poem a very difficult and heartbreaking decision. I know some ladies here in the den were in this same situation, and were sad for their decision. Your poem is the most sensible one, and hopefully will give these ladies some kind of healings.
I'm glad you didn't write gruesome details on the abortion to add to these ladies' pains, for who really needs more pain when all they want to do is someone who would understand them and give them healing? We, as friends, have to do that much to help friends who are in this situation to heal, and not to add to their pains.
Well-done, Bonnie!!!!! I applaud you on this!!!

I do not believe we should judge her harshly,
for we are all full of sin,
