Bring My Grandma Home

Everyone was really busy for the big Thanksgiving Celebration.

Grown ups hustling with the baking & cooking amid joy and adulation.

The children were playing with Aunties  & Uncles getting lots of lovin.

The house began to fill with the delightful scents from the kitchen oven.

“His mommy asked,

“What’s the matter Tommy? Why are you so sad?”

“Especially on Thanksgiving, a time for being glad?”

“A time to be thankful, showing joyfulness and caring.”

“Tommy, are you listening or just sitting and staring?”

Tommy’s little eyes were saddened for he was sitting all alone.

When he cried out,

“This won’t be Thanksgiving for me, until you bring my Grandma home!”

“Darlin, Grandma’s in a nursing home and she is having her dinner there.”

“But Mommy, you said Thanksgiving is for showing how much we truly care.”

“Oh, Tommy you’re so right, I have something very important I must do.”

When she returned, she went to Tommy, and said,

“I brought Thanksgiving home to you!”

Tommy’s little tearstained eyes lit up, as he saw Grandma in his view.

He ran to her and hugged her, and it was Thanksgiving for those two.
