Called Upon Me!

The night before my surgery my heart was very weak.

They attached a machine called thumper and I could hardly speak.

Even though the odds against my survival were very small,

It was the only chance I had and better than none at all.

I could hear thumper thumping as I prayed to my Lord above,

Asking him to be with me and my loved ones, thanking him for his love.

Saying all the things I held inside to my loved ones standing there.

A gentle peace came over me and I knew God heard my prayer.

In the operating room I thanked the Doctor for what he was about to do.

I called again upon my Father and remembered to thank him too.

There was no apprehension in me at all; I felt no terror or alarms.

The anesthetic then took hold and I was in my Savior’s arms.

When I awoke, I asked HIM, “Why have you saved and set me free?”

HIS answer was simple,

“Today my name was called first and last, where else would I be!”
