Sara Finally Forgives
A very beautiful young girl named Sara cried herself to sleep.
She was alone and lonely and her pain ran very deep.
She watched her Mother suffer every minute of the day.
Her father left long ago and then her mother passed away.
Her mother closed her eyes and quietly drifted away,
Sara felt such pain and stillness, both fighting to stay.
She knew her Mom was at peace but still it hurt so bad.
This left a deep hole in Sara’s heart the same as her dad.
As she was trying to figure out what she was going to do.
The fear and terror had besieged her like panic she never knew.
The doorbell rang and she answered & was shocked to her core.
For it was her father standing there right outside her door.
She hadn’t seen him in many years, too many to add.
But there he stood in front of her, her long lost Dad.
As she looked at him, saw deep sadness in his darkened eyes.
She wanted to forgive him; for it was like he heard her cries.
But then she remembered how much pain he left behind.
Her mom was dismayed and hurt and nearly lost her mind.
And Sara’s life changed that day, her security was gone.
She had no idea what life would be, for her and her dear mom.
So no, she can’t forgive him for he’s done too much harm.
She was about to say something when she fell into his arms.
Sara fainted from pure exhaustion & not eating for days.
So Sara wasn’t a bit surprise that she was living in a haze.
My dear Sara can you find it in your heart to ever forgive me?
When I left you and your Mother I was blind & could not see.
How very much you both meant to me and I was so ashamed.
I begged your Mother for forgiveness; it was over just the same.
I didn’t deserve her love for it was always forgiving and kind.
I don’t blame her in any way my darling, the mistake was all mine.
I came today to tell you that I’m here if you ever want or need me.
And Sara put her arms around her dad and set her anger free.

This in a small way, reminds me of what it felt when Aretha and I let go of the unforgiveness and braced forgiveness, I am so glad that my cousin and little Addie is part of my life, I can not imagine it any other way
