Rebecca
Standing on a corner, waiting on her chance,
hungry, hopeless, a life vanquished.
Tattered clothes, lips purpled in a frown,
shivering in the cold, with blank eyes she seeks.
Weakened by hunger, she crumbles
grabbing for a nearby pole,
noticing a poster
she gazes at the image.
The picture of a young beautiful girl
lost to the streets of the night;
it reads, "please help us find Rebecca."
Through lips of anguish, she whispers faintly,
"I think I am Rebecca."
