Enchanted by what the band played
lament sounds carried by the wind
slow movements of thoughts swayed.
Time spiraled to transcend
back in time to yester years,
thoughts of, there would be no end.
Moments spent drinking ice cold beer
as summer days fell to warm nights,
we languished holding each other near.
Smiles followed by whispers of delight
of silly thoughts and endless fears,
lead our hearts to embrace and to unite.
Gazing back once more into the years
seeing things for what they were
I could no longer hold back the tears.
Emotions churned and stirred,
reality bought me back into time
to the song I no longer heard.
My thoughts reeled to this crime
for silence filled my troubled mind,
how I wished to stay back in that time!
Now I must journey forward blind
seeking to find another soul
to hold my heart steadfast entwined.
If only the sounds would become whole
I would not then become a lost soul!

This was my 1st attepmt at using this format of Terza Rima with ending couplet.
This was also written for a poetry challenge to write a poem that flowed with music without using the words, love, desire, passion, music, dance, melody, or harmony.
Wonderful rhyme and meter enwrapping gorgeous thoughts. Bravissimo.

Yes Tracey, this poem touches the heart so deeply. I can feel your anguish when no sound is left. No song is playing and it is time for you to move on. I cried.
