The Cookie Monster

You consumed more

than most and left little

for those who followed

behind your image.

You trailed cookie crumbs

with hopes that others

would follow your path

sweetened by the just of it all.

Your greed fattened

you to shades of blue

but you thought little of colors,

to you they were just crayons

used to fill in voids

between lines you drew,

and sometimes you colored outside

the black lines of reality

intentionally to show

others you cared little

for the flavor of life’s morality,

morsels of bitter-sweetness, deceit!

As for me, I do not color outside the lines...but I am prone to moving those lines for the sake of art...if I did not, then that would be a form of compromising my work. Excellent write, Tracey.

Brilliant and clever, Tracey. We all have a child inside wanting to play. Love that little guy. [smiles]
