Poem Artwork

Into Nothing...I feel myself fall
into the dark shadows that ever appall
my sense of judgement of wrong vs. right
numb past relief... no absolution in sight.

Praying into oblivion that others are spared
from the nothing that engulfs - Oblivion does not care.
I sit doll-like staring into the greater unknown.
Motionless, speechless... hatred has fruitfully grown.

My shadow shivers with awful fret
trying to sign the words for regret
but my soul has abandoned its existence
as it looks, still, for its penance

So I stand here steadfast before you
challenging eternity to collect on its due;
leaving me a soul that's young but battered.
I stand before you... submissive... shattered.

Wow, Lori, imagine running into you here, but it doesn't surprise me. You are still as prolific with words now as when I knew you when. This is especially a dynamic piece, reminiscent of what I knew of you when. I just discovered this place, so give me some time to catch up with you. In the meantime, keep going, you always did that good. ((((HUGS))))
