Has anyone seen my words
I can’t seem to find them
I’ve looked in all the usual places
But they just don’t seem to be there
I’ve looked high and low
In here and out there
I’ve sat for hours staring
At a blank screen just daring
The words to come out of hiding
So I can put them together
And say something in prose
Rhyme or freestyle or anything close
But nothing happens, so here I am
Doing what I swore I would not do
Putting together this nonsense
Cause I really miss all of you
There that covers all the bases
Abab aabb and all in lower cases
No rhyme or reason anywhere
But at this point I just don’t care
At least it says what I came to say
Even with writer’s block
I still can’t stay away…
I'm in mourning this entire month for Jerry Garcia, I'm a Deadhead at heart and this month would have been his birthday. Don't do drugs...so much wonderful music has been lost due to drug use.

Sue's strategy is brilliant: when faced with writer's block, write *about* writer's block!! Wish graduate students in EE had the same alternative when they get stuck in their research..

Do what I do; edit previous work...the muse finally returns. Read...the muse will stimulate. Take a day trip...museum, concert, dinner out...the muse needs encouragement...then say the hell with it and take a loooooog vacation. ~E
