A significant childhood memory of giving a bunch of pink tipped Daisies to my Dad…and recalling that memory with love today…

Poem Artwork

                 Pink Tipped Daisies..

A bunch of pink tipped Daisies
I held out to my Dad
I knew he’d know how much they meant
and stop him feeling sad.
His eyes lit up
he hugged me tight
and once again my world was right..
I think about him every day
his heart so full of love
and send my heartfelt thoughts out there
to reach him up above.
I cross the field this Springtime day
I feel the past once more..
A little girl her hands outstretched
with love for evermore…

Time stops, breathlessly roaming, the air of appreciation returns.
In a manner of Wordsworth "We are seven"
"Pink Tipped Daises" a classic addition, from a life affirming DNA source

It feels so good to get back in the Den and read your poetry, Diana. This is musical in rhythm, rich in rhyme, and most of all, as these reviews reveal, shining a bright light on your connection with your father. These two final lines carry the brimming armful of “Pink Tipped Daisies…” and honest love. Keep writing* ~~ the other Diana

Most kids give flowers to their mothers. But I see you viewed your dad as special like my sister viewed my dad, her favorite.

A beautiful touching poem now that your dad is gone. I hope you saw it before he left.

Such a heartfelt reflection on your childhood memory. It reminds me of the time that I bought a small box of chocolates for my mother on Valentine's Day. I must have been ten years old, but had my own paper route and there had my own money.

Nm Diana ~

I’m so glad our paths crossed ~ years ago now.

This is such splendid writing ~ father and daughter love.

With your permission, may I share it with special friends?

Otherwise, it may be overlooked, and they would adore it.

A little girl her hands outstretched ~ with love forevermore

With love ~

By the cringe…, Lady Di, you've penned such a delicate, nostalgic dreamscape of a poem with a free-flowing rhyme. Simply divine. xx
