A short poem for Valentine's Day. First time I won't be on my annual Manresa Retreat on Valentine's Day. Survival Recommendations for guys to stay out of the doghouse!

This is the very first Valentine's
When I won't be on Manresa Retreat
My wife surely expects many love signs
I pray to truly listen and be sweet

How will I seek to convey what I feel?
Per poetry or roses that brings her to tears?
All I know is that it had better be for real
And not any appliance which she likes from Sears!

She's hinted for a nice Juban's outing
An intimate and sumptuous meal
Unlike Thomas, I'd better not be doubting
Or who knows what anger she may reveal?

So guys let's be romantic and prepare
To honor all the gals whom we cherish
They only want to know that our hearts care
If not, welcome to the doghouse and perish!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Good advice, given in a humorous way, but serious nevertheless.--or the doghouse!
Your wedding picture is gorgeous!

Oh what our culture has come to, when expectations exceed reality more and more every year, and, somehow, it always seems to cost more?

Well, I had better take your advice and go shopping…
