My first tanka. Hope I got it right.

Thank you so much for your enthusiastic responses to my snow job...er, I mean, poem. Doing my best to make the best, could say. Coldest winter Carolina has seen in I-don't-know-how-long. Between that and all the milestones that January
brings my way, takes a village [in which y'all are V.I.P.'s] to keep the doldrums at bay. B l e s s . y o u !

have to forgive me
though the sky seems to be proud
of the tears it prompts
not just ducks who join her troupe
weeping willow acrobats

Tanka. I have no clue being an ignoramus. Lovely form though, in tune with the painting. Gotta pull a Susan now and Google. Bye. Patrick

A tanka it is Pea -- and up to your fine abilities my dear friend. The willow is the sage of verse and prophet for encounters of the heart. I bid you love and peace. Jon Michael

Beautiful tanka for a beautiful painting. By the way...no snow here but it is a cold winter so far...it is down to the high 50's and low 60's here in California...I have never had to wear my long sleeve shirts so long before...it does take some getting used to.

This is absolutely beautiful! The painting made me pause and climb into its depths before reading this awesome poem. I'm in awe. Even your words are like a work of art.
