Where were you when I needed you most?
I look around and all that's left is a ghost
Memories and love all wrapped in my mind
Swirling and twirling, like a ball of twine
Each night I pray and call out your name Pretending your gone is only a game
Life was good when you were here
The core of our life, the path was so clear
Where were you when I needed you most?
Remember when you and I drove to the coast?
Stopping and laughing, walking on the sand
Marveling at the wonders as you held my hand
I was weak, sick, hurt; you were always very strong
Valued each minute, believing I'd be the one gone
Life played a trick, too soon you were taken
The joke was on me, alone I couldn't stop shaking
Each step I take is to pick up the pieces
One by one, the dreams I toss and release
Where were you when I needed you most?
Show me your face, smile , touch, but not like a ghost

Where Were You is a very lovely poem. Caring, soulful, and painful.
Whether you call the face a ghost or Spirit- It is always there and more caring and protective than when in a human form. This bond will never end. Just enjoy feeling the closeness no matter what form. Some people never feel it. Know that you are a blessed one.
