Since I'm not Irish, I don't seem to get into the spirit
of the Green and Jolly...the Leprechauns and lore
Often I forget to put a sprig of spring or color green
upon my body, or in my hair...not even plaid to wear
Although I read of St. Patrick, it didn't quite connect
what did he have to do with this, and a pot of gold too..
Yet when I see a Rainbow, I see a little green fellow
at the end of the beauty; believing is in the seeing...
What this day means to me is so much more than fun
I see my mom and dad...young, happy and in love
Each year on St. Patricks Day, they celebrated one
More year of life together, as family grew and grew
Now that mom and dad are gone thru Heaven's gates
that green filled day of joy and laughs and dancing
Spring before my eyes...it's not just a holiday,
A day to drink and be jolly...Leprechauns and folly
To me, it's your Happy Anniversary... a day I won't
forget... I hope you've found the end of the rainbow
and now can smile, relax and enjoy the best at last..
So while the world is drinking green beer and jigging in their kilts... I miss you both...and send my love
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY... I LOVE AND MISS YOU BOTH... YOU ARE MY MOM AND DAD!
