As darkness draws near
Shadows can be seen
Everywhere-
Lurking around corners
Hiding behind bends Creeping up
Following behind
You can't seem
To shake them
No matter how
Hard you try
Jumping upon
Running away
The shadows
Are here to stay
Walk softly Be alert The shadow knows
...one of my all time favorite subjects!!
I find cemetaries to be a sanctuary though
Keep The Lights Dim...or better yet keep'm off
Fair In The Moon..."The Shadow Knows"
watching...watching...

Wow! I thought I was tracking you. I am now. I have lived in the shadows for so long, I don't know any other way to deal with life. This poem pretty much tells it like it is.
"Who knows...what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows...Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha" (in that deep, eerie voice Ron remembers.) Very scary program, but an important part of family life at our house.
When I was a child we would gather around our old console radio and listen to the evening programs. One of them was a mystery program that always began and ended with, “The Shadow Knows,” in a deep, eerie voice that reached right down into your soul. That's the only thing I remember of that program called, The Shadow––that eerie voice.
Thanks for the memory…

Thanks for entering in the Halloween fun, Deborah. This poem was a 'chaser,' and being chased is the most frightening thing in the world to me. Good one! ~~ Diana
