Be happy who you are...you are unique...no two alike.
Never have I
Sat with kings or queens
Nor would I wish to
I have seen
How the other half lives
The rich and famous-
One told me his name
Like I didn't know
What an a_ _ hole
An actor was he-
A twenty something
By his side, hanging
Onto every word
The other was a player
Of baseball
Glassy-eyed,
Could barely speak or see
I met a young actress
Without makeup, still beautiful
Her smile was contagious
Persona was down to earth
She I appreciated-
Observer of life
Always have been
Comfortable in my own skin
I've never experienced people that are rich & famous, but from your posting here maybe I am better for NOT being around them...I think we all have to be comfortable in our own skin, though for the most part I don't think I am...will have to "chew" on this awhile...thoughtful write, Deb...-e- (& thanks for your insightful comment on my last posting "Or not", its always appreciated & looked forward too)
Not so with me all the time, Deborah. There was a big part of my life when I didn't quite know who I was. Physically I was from my mother who gave me away to a witch for a mother. I finally took a good look, and these days I absolutely know who I am.
Mary Angela Nangini's poems celebrate the richness of life and love. From the city to cottage-country and the roads in between, Nangini explores the changing seasons of her varied region. (This book will soon be reprinted in hard cover.)
Love ya!
