Poem Artwork
Rolling Dice
by Odin Roark

Natural selection
Can’t help it

Way back
Necessity abounded
Creating proceeds by chance

Expanded into nonrandom reality
From random happenstance

Amassed complexity from
Cross-thatched simplicity

Spark-lit some consciousness
Through unconscious irony

Popped out creatures
Demanding purpose and discovery

And science/common sense labeled it
Evolution

I don't believe in evolution, but don't argue with those who do. We all have our personal opinions. I just think if it were just the roll of dice, chaotic, DNA and Certain Chromosomes would have gotten knocked out of place that would have caused some pretty obvious mutations. Eye as an ear, I know what I mean but may not be explaining it correctly. My father was an Atheist, worked in medical field but was not completely convinced about evolution theory.

Very stimulating piece! The link you provided just blows my mind! Why on earth wouldn't anyone embrace the science of evolution?! America is moving backward in the civilized world!

Peace,

Dayvid

It isn't IQ that some of us lack, it is EQ. I, seemingly, am deficient in both - or maybe just a sense of humor. And yet if what we see, hear and partake of daily is a divine miracle, then when it changes tomorrow (calendar and everything else) it will still be perfectly balanced (in flux) and be miraculous (even if the human race is gone). Consequently, I would not have voted for evolution because I want things the way they are ... or were a few nano-seconds (or hundred years) ago. Everything is just ducky, as if it could possibly be any different, but if so, wouldn't that be ducky, too? Or, as my gun loving neighbors put it, "That's the way its always been" ... Happy New Year, Odin.

I resent the implication Mr. Phillips, that Republicans are lacking in IQ. I am a Republican and I would have voted for evolution.

The 67 v 43 percent belief in evolution (Democrats v Republicans)is probably explained by a similar IQ gap.
