Etchings Ethereal

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

Given the mind is the quintessential partner of sentience, attempting to define its workings can be daunting, begging the question: What would we do without language, without words to pursue this conundrum of conundrums? (Image by youthedesigner)

Etchings Ethereal
by Odin Roark

Mind relying on perception’s compass,
knows how tensile its airless life,
its sponge-like essence submerged, purged,
and submerged again.

Its porous surface remains perpetually exposed,
receiving trickled bits and tsunami-rushes,
all to be managed,
reformed for other shores,
sent afloat to become another mind’s discovery.

How simple its existence.

From droplets few,
imagination spurs cups to overflow,
awakening learning’s knowing nature,
navigating choices ever floating,
urging currents engrave messages ashore,
freeing yesterday’s impressions
to become tomorrow’s ebb and tide perceptions.

So it goes.

The world of mind ever changing by what it gathers,
expressing with amorphous vaguely
its often enigmatic reasoning,
determined to find logic’s landfall
where layering wisdom
settles upon surfaces, air
and hearts in want.

Such is the cycle of synaptic travel,
often biding its time,
refusing to be forgotten,
patiently nurturing its many shadows of unrest,
knowing life’s unbound consciousness
exists only to empower infinity’s mantle
with more etchings ethereal.

Tackling how the brain works is an exercise most daunting. Your venture into this realm is as ethereal as any other.

Well Hello Odin!!

I have been receiving your notices for some months now?
Though I often can not keep up with your steady flow! :-o
So I save them in a file to read later??

Well I paused to read this one & I'm Glad! :-)
Your analysis is quite Right On!
The Mysteries of the Mind are boundless...
As you put it - "this conundrum of conundrums?"

And your phrasing is grand - -
"Urging currents engrave messages ashore,
freeing yesterday’s impressions
to become tomorrow’s ebb and tide perceptions"
OR
"knowing life’s unbound consciousness
exists only to empower infinity’s mantle
with more etchings ethereal"

As I hear it - Science can not figure out//account for Dreams?
The Lord's Miracle still confounds them! :-)
