Dinner Time Chorus
The teapot whistles its flirtations
As coffee-press and cups bristle anticipation
Ice cubes crack and cackle in their tumblers
While chairs are pushed around with gaseous purge-like percussion
Thus vegetable-steaming pot gurgles with surreptitious glee
Joined by oil prancing and dancing in a pan
Awaiting the marinated halibut
Oh…
What a lovely chorus of sounds
To drown out the memories of last night
Bring it on
Dinner time
Crazy as it is
Oh…
Don’t forget to pour the spirits
