Amidst a darkened ether, 
determined sparks from tired eyes 
emit lightning thrusts, 
collapsing pages into heaps, 
words forever committed to 
understandings in free-fall.

Patience holds fast 
against Opinion's quicksand, 
Belief's trip wires 
cautious that Conceit's trap 
lurks in the shadows. 

Lesser conflicts fought with honorable intentions 
recede, forgotten now, 
mindful of battles lost and 
wars yet to be fought. 

Ink upon the clearing spreads rapidly 
even as tendrils of enemy efforts remain coiled 
hidden beneath unctuous praises 
ready to ambush, 
prepared to spring open 
today's bombardment 
of Distraction's artillery. 

Sprint we must 
across Error's mine-laden fields, 
seeking not escape amid the commonality, 
but respite among the enlightened. 

Flooded by Tenacity's blood, 
Mind's drenched landscape 
bids calm passage beyond, 
rising through windswept memories, 
lifting spirits above seductive doubts. 

Evacuating Words cry forth tears 
hopefully satiating Reader-needs with resolve. 

And then… 

The next battle awaits a wordsmith warrior to pick up the pen.
