Whisper of Endurance
Pa Patience breathes in the moments when the world slows.
Like a seed deep within the soil waiting for the sun’s nurturing,
It knows little of the day’s rush.
Glacial peaks often stand tall,
Formed by the patience of rain, snow and wind,
Never hurried,
Yet never still.
A river excavates its path, not by force, but with the steady carving
Of water’s freedom to roam,
One of Nature’s nomad travelers.
Consider…
Light years away kinds of endurance,
Stars in the night sky radiating with light that took eons to reach us.
Perhaps the epitome of patience is
The heart garden where flowers of quiet strength
Hold firm their roots in the soil of time.
The Islamic traditions put it succinctly in a direct quote from the Quran: "Sabre jameel". Patience is beautiful im much the same way as you have delineated in your insightful poem.
In spite of all of our efforts, the soil in our garden becomes like concrete dry summer and no longer has the nutrients that it needs to provide good garden vegetables and fruits.
However, while leaving it fallow recently many non-native food sources are being planted by birds and thrive with a little water, giving us far more food, like wild spinach and papaya than we ever could have had we tried to plant and cultivate them.
