Those who are at that major crossroad of acceptance for the later years of a life fraught with tenacity,
Rejoice in the years still happening. (Image by Odin AI)

 Embracing Hard Lessons

When one pulls off the fast lane

there are possible moments of reflection,
to see the shadows of the  past,
etched with the scars of hard lessons.

Each challenge, a teacher in disguise,
each failure, a step towards growth.

The pain, once sharp, now softened,
a reminder of resilience,
a testament to strength.

In the crucible of adversity,
one finds the true self,
forged in the fires of experience.

Gratitude blooms in the heart,
not for the ease, but for the struggle,
for the wisdom gained,
for the courage discovered.

In the woven mindscape of life,
the dark threads weave the brightest patterns.

To truly be…

Accepting  the storms that test one,
 the mountains that seem insurmountable,
the moments of doubt that lead to clarity,

One has to be thankful.

In the end,

it is the hard lessons that shape us,
that mold us into who we are meant to be.

Once discovered,

hold tight the fulcrum of life’s balance

and remain with firm resolve,

even in old age.

For some of us,

these golden years are the best.

Your words are so true, Odin! Experience is the best teacher and you provide this truth so well in this piece of work. Write on, Poet!
Love ya!

I felt like I was reading my experience. Only better told by you. Where you are young it is easier to roll off the bad situations and move onto a different path. Unfortunately that path may not be as good as the one you had been on.

It is always after many ups and downs, if one is able to reach a comfortable income I can leave the rat race that the realization are being free to do what one wants and not what one needs makes life sweet.

Your poem is perfectly constructed and offers wisdom that comes with years and trials. I agree completely.
