Black Silk and Lace

My eye catches her as she walks through the door,

A Goddess in a short dress of black silk and lace

I smile to myself as she is shown to a table

Long dark hair and a beautiful face

 

She scans the room and our eyes meet and hold

Her smile makes my heart miss a beat

The sax that I am playing slips out of my hand

As I watch her slide into that cushioned seat

 

Her eyes never leave mine as she slowly crosses her legs

Long and beautiful they make my hands damp and shake

Slowly she puts her hair behind her ear

My mouth turns to cotton and my heart starts to ache


 


With her fingers she traces her face to her chin

Over her red lips and back again

Her eyes full of secrets met my gaze

Through out this place's smoky haze

 

Moistening her lips, trailing a finger up the center

Of the low bodice, slinky black dress

To the base of her throat

And back again

 

My blood was swimming my mouth agape

Surly the way she ran her hand

From calf to knee and to thigh

Was meant to catch a mans eye

 

I followed each movement of hers while

My pulse leaped like a wolf on the prowl

I opened my mouth and stifled

A low growl

 

She sat through the song leaning back in her chair

One arm provocatively hooked over the back

When the song was over she traced her tongue

Over those red, red lips, I almost lost my breath

 

She rose, her gaze still locked on mine

Black silk and lace my hands wanted to feel

Running a hand down her hip she smiled

Turning around on those man-killer heels

 

She was to be my blind date for the night

I closed up my sax and left the band stand

Thanking the Gods for my best friend
