Excellent. Powerful message in a fun and smiling way Have you sent this in to the natl parks, div of forestry, dept of Interior???
You really should!!! Take it to the schools too. Even nursery schools.

Wise wit words in "Campground Bears (Kate's Bear Challenge)". It is an outstanding composition. I would print 400 million copies of it and distribute them throughout the country... Excellent reading for all ages.

Living close to the SMOKIES i can relate to bears and their need to feed,, more i read this you should send it to National Park Service,
this would be excellent to use in their ads about bears and feeding

Sherry, this wonderful piece absolutely reminds me of how I yearn to revisit the lush green forests of the Pacific Northwest breathtaking views along the Cascade Range between Klamath Falls and Oakridge, Oregon. More specifically, near the Crater Lake area. I had some terrific memories from that region of our beautiful country. However, I was thankful and do prefer staying inside a sturdy and structurally well built log cabin verses any canvas tent. Obviously for safety reasons, and having something left of our food, not to mention retain all our limbs, I surely do not want to become any Bears main dish let alone its appetizer… lol. Exceptionally well-penned poetry, and I believe it meets the challenge well. Thanks for sharing your work. Take good care and be well.

I LIVE WITH BEARS!!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE ALL OVER MY TOWN
They don't hibernate here, its not cold enough, and they
want food all winter long!!!!!!!! Its awful!!! My town had a bear alert meeting......they are on the school fields, in pools, houses, cars.....(they break in if you leave food there).......

I am afraid of them.....and dogs and bears hate each other.......I have 2 dogs!!!
Your poem is aaccurate to the max........plus it rhymes.........I just love it!!!!!!!!!

... am I thus given to understand that people actually CAMP OUT with these Big Guys??!! Just a flimsy bit of canvas between nakedness and a giant clawed and hairy fist??!!! Just give me the cute pic, and I would be far happier!! (And safer!) Makes sleeping in the back garden suddenly seem quite appealing... Neat write, Sherry! Kate xx

From the “bears-eye view" you are in his land

Yes, we are when we go camping in the wild; since he was there first. And I learned my lesson long ago, not to tempt or tease Mr. Bear in his domain.
