Poem Artwork

I used to have the world in my hands
The sea would part on my command
I had everything I needed on a string
I could sit back and watch it all swing

Now there's nothing left of what used to be
There used to be more then just us three
Then you bring me back to good memories
When friends weren't turning into enemies

I can't stand to think of the ways we parted
But they're flooding the memory of how it started
I already know that we'll all never be the same
And I've found that I'm not the only one to blame

I used to have the world in my hands
Kept it all going by popular demand
I had everything I needed on a string
I could sit back and watch it all swing

Now that I've lost the world and more
There's no more silver lingings at my door
The people I've lost and pushed away
Have seperated and been lead astray

With heavy shoulders and a hollow heart
I'll let the vultures pick me apart
I had the life, the teenagers dream
But there's always more then what it seems

I used to have the world in my hands
Twist and turn it and watch it expand
I had everything I needed on a string
I could sit back and watch it all swing

This could be quite a song but as a poem, it's just fine in expressing what is aching in your soul, Brandi. Love and best wishes,

Regis
